What little he did have, Pier Giorgio gave to help the poor, even using his bus fare for charity then running home to be on time for meals. The poor and suffering were his masters, and he was literally their servant, which he considered a privilege.
- Brief Biography of Pier Giorgio Frassati, Frassati USA
Amidst our enormous needs as an “infant” parish, we take seriously the example of our patron in caring for those with greater needs. Because we believe this is essential to our Catholic Faith, we tithe as a parish, i.e., we give 10% of our offertory income away. Half of it goes to charities vetted by the diocese or our tithing committee. The other half is used for our own parish outreach ministries and to assist parish members, who, for example, struggle to purchase food, repair a car to get to work, or care for the unmet needs of a child. We ask those organizations to whom we tithe, to consider tithing 10% of that gift to another deserving group. Many have done just that, increasing our ability to help the underserved and to build a culture of tithing and generous givers.

Words of Gratitude From Our Gift Recipients:
Meals on Wheels: It’s people like you that allow us to do God’s work of feeding the homebound in our community both nutritionally and spiritually.
Horry County Literacy Council: Your donation will help us continue to grow our reach in Horry County. We have also heard from some of your parishioners seeking to volunteer with us!
Coastline Women’s Center: We want to thank you for providing a financial gift to the ministry of Coastline Women’s Center. Your support is so needed for the vulnerable, at-risk mothers and children we serve.
FrassatiUSA: Your parish community tithe will help us to promote the spirituality of Bl. Frassati. Rather than tithe a portion to another organization, in the spirit of Pier Giorgio, it will be used to help a random individual in need here in Nashville.
Family Honor: Thank you for your recent donation to Family Honor. Your support will help make it possible for women, men, and young people to look at themselves and others in a new way that reflects the dignity of who they are as children of God. That leads to decisions that create a happy, healthy, holy life for not only teens, but adults as well. As per your suggestion, we have made a donation to Midland Holy Family Fund in Columbia, SC.
St. Francis Center: Thank you for your tithe. Your gift will make it possible to do emergency home repairs for those who are disabled, offer assistance for food and utilities, and assist our food pantry. We also tithe from all money received. This tithe will go to a Baptist church in Burton to make repairs as they have no money to do so.
St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church: "Dear Fr. David! Hope you are doing well by the grace of God.🙏 We received your generous donation for St. Mark which is very much appreciated.🙏 We send the donation tithes to the needy in Egypt since they are very poor & also to Coptic Orphans, which is a non profit organization sponsoring the fatherless children! Also please share with us any charity organization that you know about! Again thank you so much for everything & may you have a blessed week." - Fr. Antony Zaki
