About Frassati's Youth

Our Mission: ​Preparing teens to be disciples of Christ for the good adventure.
Our Vision: ​Teens on the good adventure.

​Frassati's Youth is our youth group for middle and high school students. We strive to create an environment that allows teens to encounter Christ through fellowship, joy, and community prayer. 

Through Frassati's Youth, teens have opportunities to serve at Oktoberfest leading children's games, at Vacation Bible School as group leaders, and at other children's events throughout the year such as our Trunk or Treat or Easter Egg Hunt! 

Teens also have the opportunity to attend retreats and conferences such as DYC (Diocesan Youth Conference) Jr High Rally.

FALL 2024 SCHEDULE:
High School: 2nd and 4th Fridays (6:30 - 8:30 p.m.)
Middle School: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays (7:00 - 8:30 p.m.)

Meet Our CORE Team!

Katie Kline
Frassati's Youth Leader

Katie is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a degree in Marine Science. During her time at Coastal, she was a leader in the Catholic student organization on campus, running Bible studies and coordinating Masses. In the summer of 2022, Katie served as a Summer Missionary with Life Teen at Camp Covecrest. As a missionary, she led teens through parish based discipleship and consequently felt called to youth ministry. Katie is now in graduate school part-time for a MA in Pastoral Theology at The Augustine Institute.

Thomas Vehige
Core Team Member
Middle & High School

Thomas Vehige is a recent graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a degree in Sports Communication. During his time at Coastal, he was a leader in the Catholic student organization running on campus outreach. Thomas currently works full time for Mercury in creative media. Thomas enjoys volunteering his time to help teens grow in their relationship with Christ!

Nate Olsen
Core Team Member
High School

​Nate is originally from Bowie, Maryland and moved to Conway to pursue a degree in Psychology at Coastal Carolina University. He currently works as a Registered Behavior Technician  for children on the spectrum. While in high school, he took part in campus ministry and served as the president of the Catholic Chants during college. During his time at CCU, he learned the importance of building a true, lasting relationship with Jesus Christ. He believes that youth ministry is imperative for individuals’ spiritual life as well as the Church’s health overall. The faith of young people is beautiful and inspiring, so he can’t wait to be a part of the youth ministry at Frassati!

Hannah Herness
Core Team Member
​High School

Hannah is a senior at Coastal Carolina and a parishioner of Frassati. She is originally from Southern California, but moved to Conway during her senior year of high school. She hopes to become a teacher at a Catholic high school the following fall. She has previously served in campus ministry in both high school and college. Serving God by bringing his children closer to him brings her much joy, so she is very excited to be joining Frassati’s youth ministry team!

Shiloh Bergman

Middle School

Shiloh is originally from Clayton, WA. She moved to South Carolina to get her creative writing degree from Coastal Carolina University, and in that process reconnected with Jesus through the Catholic Church. She has several years of experience planning and organizing children and youth ministry events and have worked in a variety of K-12 classrooms as a teaching assistant. She believes that children are capable of great things, and is excited to watch our students grow and become closer to the heart of our Mother.

Anderson Dewig
Youth Ministry Intern

Anderson is from Bluffton South Carolina and is a freshman at Coastal Carolina. He has been serving God through Youth Ministry for many years now at his home parish, Saint Gregory the Great, serving in every level from elementary students to high school students. He also served with the Diocese as part of the Evangelization Team. He is exited to serve God at Frassati Catholic and to bring God into the students lives.
